Apostle Paul Paps is the creator and writer of the multi-genre Blood Bread and Water (BBW) literary series. A self-educated, well-versed lifelong hard laborer and family man, he approaches writing with humility, curiosity, and a desire to better understand the world around him.
One autumn night, after a profound moment of reflection that forced him to examine life, purpose, and mortality, he picked up the pen with a simple question in mind: what, if anything, could he contribute to society and the world at large? His answer was equally simple—a focused mind shaped by lived experience, observation, hardship, faith, work, and a lifetime of practical knowledge.
For the author, the purpose of writing is not only to entertain, but to engage the reader—to make them smile and reflect, laugh and question, think and dream about things big, small, and everything in between.
The Blood Bread and Water series is only the beginning of that journey. With much still to learn and much still to accomplish, Apostle Paul Paps has planned a number of titles within the BBW literary universe. The series includes the manifesto-style work The Message in the Hourglass, the faith-centered companion title The Book of Goat, the fiction work The River Hope, the autobiographical The Janitor’s Closet, the inspirational biography Lady's Got the Look, and the mystery title The Piper and the Trumpets. With additional works in development.
Each work within the Blood Bread and Water series stands on its own, yet contributes to a larger literary framework exploring faith, freedom, civilization, morality, human nature, struggle, and the modern world.
Above all, Apostle Paul Paps writes from lived experience. His promise to the reader is simple: honesty, reflection, hard truths, hard lessons, hard laughter, and hard work. He has worked to put everything on the table through his writing—and to create a body of work with something meaningful for every kind of reader.
